Our first salad leaves (Iceberg Lettuce) harvested when thinning out our plantings, here being enjoyed by  Marley,  one of our two encounter rats at the zoo. Nice bit of fresh enrichment for our animals. Not sure what he is reading in the paper …

We’ve planted ‘parrot mix’ as well, a strange variety of seeds such as wheat, sweetcorn, pumpkin, maize and peanuts to see any of  this grows! Watch that space!
